A history of creating environments that exist in ecological harmony with the land.
The vision for the YCCS Marina is mindful of the many elements of nature and the preservation of our breathtaking surroundings. Renewable energy resources and global leading-edge eco-technologies provide principal elements of the infrastructure.
YCCS Marina is committed to the journey of environmental excellence that will continuously evolve as emerging state-of-the-art technologies, innovations and new ideas come to the marketplace.
Sustainability
We are implementing environmentally-conscious infrastructure foundations that will help YCCS Marina respectfully maintain the integrity of the island's natural beauty. In addition, YCCS is utilizing zero-emissions G.E.M. cars (Global Electric Motorized Vehicles) for transportation
YCCS Marina Dock Design
Bellingham Marine, one of our experienced partners in this enterprise, specializes in the installation of floating docks. The innovative design of the dock allows the underside to act as a floating ecosystem for marine life. Not only do docks of this type provide a more natural surface to interact with the aquatic habitat, they cause fewer bottom disturbances and reduced water turbidity which helps maintain water quality.
Additionally, the environmental integrity of the site is protected by the use of HDPE sleeves on the steel dock pilings. These sleeves prevent oxygen from interacting with the steel, which slows corrosion and deterioration. Selected for its ability to outlast other materials, locally sourced concrete is used on an "as needed" basis, helping to eliminate waste.
